Interior Oak Planked Door and Wardrobe Doors
A new oak door frame needed to be scribed to fit the undulations of this period property, our initial survey allowed us to make the frame in such a way to take the variations into account.
The four planked, four ledged oak door was aged and coloured to compliment the surrounding timbers and was hung on iron strap hinges, a hand made iron latch was also fitted.
Upstairs an oak framed wardrobe front with Arch Carved detail was made and fitted, again a survey was done and the clients wishes taken into account before a drawing was submitted for approval.
The entire frame was assembled in our Rolvenden workshop using pegged mortice and tenon joints, this allows us to dismantle the frame and once upstairs in the period property to re assemble.
The five, oak planked wardrobe doors have iron hinges and D handles and again were aged and coloured to blend in with original timbers.
Once fitted, the wardrobe front frame was completed by carefully scribing timber fillets to the three edges and a small skirting was shaped to fit the contours of the floor.
