Period Oak Staircase Renovation a Conservation Project

On this project we were being directed by the Conservation Officers Report it was obvious that the existing stairs were in a near state of collapse So the first step was to carefully removed them prior to renovation.

The period oak arched apron was stripped and polished, as were the original handrail and capping.

The new stairs were fitted into this tight space and designed to reflect the original style but still had to comply with current building regulation.

Although we have created more elaborate and impressive stairways this one shows a more practical approach with the need to maintain period styles of construction whilst still displaying a beautifully finished staircase and transformed space.

To see more images and information of some of other staircases we have completed please view the Staircases and Balustrades page.
