I think Rupert is just sorting the finishing touches now, but i'm struggling for words to express our delight with the door. I can't wait to get home this evening to see the finished result.
It is exactly what we'd hoped for; the overall shape, colour and woodworking are all stunning, and i love the patina that has been achieved with the finish. It may be an expensive luxury but what it brings to our home is worth every penny.
Many thanks to you and your team, especially Rupert who has worked diligently and to a highly impressive standard.

You will be pleased to know we are absolutely delighted with the new Oak Tree Seat in our Italian Garden and even more pleased to say we sat round it last night with glass in hand to celebrate the beauty and craftsmanship of it.
We have nothing but the highest praise for you and your company and the very professional way in which you all conduct yourselves.

The door is fantastic, thank you once again. You really are among the very best craftspeople in England.
If anyone ever asks you for a reference as part of a tender for new work, we are more than happy to provide one
(or show people your work in person).

We have recently taken delivery of a fantastic TV cabinet, beautifully crafted and finished in the perfect colour, exactly as we wanted. From the initial visit for measuring up right through to the delivery, Deacon&Sandys were professional and helpful every step of the way. We also have a four poster bed and a large dining room table which was made by them in the past. Their craftsmanship and service is excellent and we would thoroughly recommend them.

I just want to thank you for creating a beautiful staircase for our Manor House. It fits perfectly into it's surroundings and has achieved my wish of looking as though it has always been there. Many thanks for your patience on site.

"We wanted something quality, special and unique....a 4" thick 16th Century solid oak door for a fortified farmhouse in the wilds of Northumberland. It was a leap of faith that made us fly to the South of England.
We were not disappointed....the quality, care and listening to our brief was all there; we immediately placed the order.
When the door arrived our expectations were exceeded...the detail, the quality and the finish were all in keeping with our property.
On the back of one door we placed a subsequent order for bookcases, skirting, 7 other doors, beams and we also used the skilled polishers to tie in other parts of the house.
The result is outstanding and has gained praise and recognition from English Heritage and the National Park.
The icing on the cake was that it was a real pleasure to deal with EVERY member of staff from designers to craftsmen...they all oozed enthusiasm and commitment.
In what has been an immensely challenging building project renovating an Ancient Scheduled Monument Deacon and Sandys scored 10 out of 10 in every aspect of their work."

“The end result is just what we were hoping for, and more! It is a beautiful table and we look forward to using it for many years. It is good to know there are still some companies with the skill and craftsmanship and also pride which goes into making magnificent furniture.”
"This is the third purchase from Deacon & Sandys over the past few years and every item you have manufactured for us has been to the highest standard and has complimented our 400 year old cottage beautifully.
The flooring was delivered a couple of weeks ago by two polite, articulate and smiling lads who looked and sounded as if they enjoyed working for Deacon & Sandys – an important part of the supply chain I think.
As someone who has owned number of businesses over the past 30 years or so I know that human beings are the most important commodity in any company. In the case of Deacon & Sandys the foregoing individuals are quite simply your “shop window” and from what I have seen are looking after the interests very well indeed."

"I bought a little old cottage in Goudhurst which had been extensively ‘modernised’. What I wanted to do was sensitively renovate it, such that the modern materials would be removed and more traditional materials put in its place.
I found it very difficult to find people who respected this type of renovation and ended up with some grave disappointments, particularly with plasterwork and wood working. I called Mike Sandys at Deacon and Sandys, who was so helpful that I immediately asked them to make two doors for the downstairs.
When they came in to do the work, they brought a passion and consideration which I’d not experienced before. They not only put the doors in but helped me to discover all the hidden oak, cleaned it for me, showed me how to care for it, and re-jigged work to accommodate the discoveries so everything would fit.
Since then, I will only let Deacon and Sandys into my home.
They have repaired and built my kitchen to our joint design, including a pot rack with a carved Tudor rose, they have built the most beautiful oak staircase (also with a Tudor Rose carved into the newel post), they have put more doors in, both upstairs and downstairs, stunning oak floors in two rooms, etc. and have figured out solutions to all sorts of problems encountered along the way including fixing a landing floor that I scratched!
They are the most wonderful and talented people and I will welcome them into my home – hopefully, for many years to come."

“Deacon and Sandys have reawoken the hand of the Jacobean mannerist craftsman. Their work not only matches seamlessly historic workmanship, it is also as good as the original work. I know of no other company that can achieve these results and deliver them with dependable efficiency.”
Charles Bain Smith RIBA, Cyma Architects Ltd
"Thank you and your team so much for the superb work you have done – it is exceptional – beyond what we had ever expected. You are true craftsmen."
Mr & Mrs M – Surrey
"My wife and I commissioned Deacon & Sandys to make a TV console, a bookcase and large hobby workstation for our conservatory.
The units were all designed by Mike Moore in a restrained traditional style and made of solid oak. The service included taking all measurements and fitting.
We have been delighted with the results. The TV console hides the TV away automatically when it is not in use. The library style bookcase incorporates lockable cupboards in the base. The hobby workstation has cupboards for filing, provision for a pc and many storage compartments for small items.
This last item is much admired by our friends, being quite unique, attractive to behold, yet entirely practical."
