Our joinery workshops are at the very heart of our business, employing a skilled and experienced team of joiners and carpenters using traditional techniques of handcrafting, joining and carving.
We specialise in creating authentic 16th and 17th century styled bespoke joinery as well as exceptional restoration and reproduction services. This means we utilise many of the traditional techniques and tools of the period as well, hand crafting, hand carving and hand colouring our pieces for stunning end results. Building primarily in the oak we occasionally produce pieces in mahogany as well, carefully sourcing the finest timber on the market in standard cuts as well as character and uneven cuts for architectural joinery and furniture that really wants a period feel.

The various pieces we produce are all distinguished from the rest of the market not just by their superior quality of design and construction, but also in the traditional craftsmanship.
Mortice and tenon joints are fixed with wooden nails and pegs, timber can be cut and fitted with character and our joiners and carvers can add any amount of period detailing from finely styled table legs to exquisite hand carving across the piece.
Second to none in the market Deacon & Sandys are often the choice of organisations like English Heritage and the National Trust to recreate and restore original 16th century timber and we invest all of that expertise and knowledge of wood into creating unique new pieces for clients across the UK and Europe.
Our customers expect the best and our skilled craftsmen always deliver work that can only be equalled by the craftsmen whose work inspired us; discover the real beauty of wood and all it’s possibilities at Deacon and Sandys.
